Oklahoma Corporation Commission
2101 N. Lincoln Blvd.
Oklahoma City, OK 73105
March 9, 2009 through January 31, 2016
I was the IT Programs Manager for Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC). I retired at the end of January 2016, but the IT Director, Michelle Smith requested that I stay on to help complete some projects that weren’t quite finished My duties at OCC were to manage application developers and database staff. We worked with users from Transportation, Public Utilities, Oil and Gas, Administrative Proceedings, Finance, Pipeline Safety and Petroleum Storage Tank to keep current systems up to date and to develop new applications when needed. I also worked with third party development companies when OCC contracted for a new system.
Department of Human Services
Data Services Division
Oklahoma City, OK
May 1997 through March 6, 2009
I was hired at the Data Services Division (DSD) of the Department of Human Services (DHS) as a computer operator and spent the next 13 years working through machine operations, application and operating systems developer, IS Manager I and IS Manager III positions. All of these positions had the same goal and that was to see that benefits were distributed timely and correctly to Oklahoma’s citizens. We had to keep up with legislated changes to the benefits as well as develop new pieces of software when there were disasters such as Katrina. Programs had to be modified continually to keep up with federal and state changes. Everything was deadline driven and we met them. Sarjoo Shah was the IT Director when I left DSD and my manager was Drew Naccarato.
Prior to the above positions I worked five months for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections as a Clerk Typist II to get into the state system. That was December 5, 1996 through May 1997. Before that I had many jobs, mostly management positions in different industries but always connected to IT. I also installed MEDIC system hardware and software for physician’s offices. I ran an online insurance billing system for a group of physicians at Integris SW Medical Center in Oklahoma City for seven years. Besides IT, I have experience in payroll and some accounting.
SKILLS
I was educated in a variety of application program Languages, COBOL, BASIC, FORTRAN, POWER BUILDER and a few of the web server based languages including JAVA and C#. I learned database languages PS2, IMS, DB2, MS Access and a few others at the state. I achieved a Green Belt in Six Sigma Project Management.
EDUCATION
High School – Graduated – Moore High School, Moore Oklahoma – May 1968
OSUTI – BASIC and COBOL programming – 6 hours – 1978
I took advantage of all the education that was offered to me in the various positions I held while working for the state of Oklahoma.
