After twenty-one years of hard work and dedication with The State of New York’s Department of Sanitation, I retired. Subsequently, I did some traveling and now I have resolved to begin settling down and establishing myself into my new home state. I am pursuing full-time employment with-in the field I know, waste management.

With-in my twenty-one years of employment with the state of New York’s Department of Sanitation; I was able to work various shifts and carry out numerous tasks. These tasks included but were not limited to; utilizing various methods of collecting garbage, operating winter weather equipment and the mechanical broom when cleaning streets.
Garbage collection entailed, the removal of refuse at numerous facilities and public areas. Areas such as; hospitals, businesses, public streets, residential areas and parks. The removal process consisted of; collecting and transporting the refuse to the dump, cleaning the truck and turning in daily logs according to policies and guidelines.
Operating winter weather equipment involved clearing specific roadways with the plow/ salt spreader. After doing so, the trucks were cleaned and prepared for the next shift.
When street cleaning tasks were implemented, the mechanical broom was utilized to clear streets of debris and refuse.
