28 years in the customer experience driven hospitality industry, until position was phased out March 2020 as a result of business downturns in the industry due to Covid-19.
As a Field Representative for manufacturers of custom products made to detailed specifications for 16 of those years, my focus was on advocating for the customers under my care, ensuring the products they ordered were delivered on time, and at a level of quality exceeding their expectations. No two requirements were the same. Large or small, each was treated with the same level of service. This was accomplished by interacting directly with the customer, actively listening to their concerns, and coordinating with the main office to resolve any issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
This would include translating client specifications into a format that the factory would in turn use to supply quotations and manufacture finished product. In addition, because of my experience and product knowledge I was the designated staffer who traveled to installations nationwide to work with clients who were behind schedule or experiencing onsite issues. This would involve coordinating with the factory, the client, and onsite representatives, listening to their concerns, then evaluating options and executing a plan to bring things back on schedule.
