Manager

Hired to create new division under the parent company umbrella to diversify product offering. This included:

• new vendor and product selection

• training for team members

• invoicing and inventory management systems

• warehouse design

• sales and marketing plans

This was later rolled out to every branch within the company. In first year of creating this new division, I was able to grow the business more than two million dollars with more than 25% profit margin before vendor rebates. Each year, this division has continued to grow exponentially as we have continued to add new products to keep up with the current market trends.

After establishing this new business division, I moved into a branch manager roll where I managed day to day operations. My responsibilities included inventory management, invoicing, accounts receivable, warehouse organization, fleet management, personnel development and discipline.

ABC Supply Co. 1993-2007

Manager (Richmond, VA & Memphis, TN)

Manage day to day operations including sales, staffing, dispatching, inventory management.

• Doubled sales in the Richmond branch within two years, taking the branch from losing $1.5 million/year to making $750K/year.

• Relocated back to Memphis to take over a new acquisition branch. This branch required a completely new warehouse design, team member training on additional company productions, new fleet and sales force. Took sales from $1.8 million to $4.3 in just under 3 years.

Managed inside and outside sales staff. Managed customer deliveries and direct sales billing.

Express Courier 1988-1993

Operations manager / dispatcher

Managed and operated local 1 hour courier service. Responsible for hiring and training the subcontractor for the courier service. Responsible for more than 1000 deliveries daily in the Memphis metro area.
