The service is inclusive of redesign& establishment of control points for upgrading of existing gravel-surfaced road.

Positions held: Surveyor

Activities performed:

-Identification and location of all beacons and benchmarks.

-Checking and verification of the setting out of the works by the Contractor.

-Day to day checking of levels of pavement layers and structures.

-Carrying out all necessary surveys for the calculation of the quantities of the completed works.

-Located, checked and staked out horizontal and vertical alignments.

-Checked grades, levels, road alignments (horizontal and vertical) in accordance with the approved plan profiles, construction cross section and shop drawings and reported all results against the specifications to the Assistant Resident Engineer with recommendations of approval/rejection/required action.

-Checking drawings, drawings of existing minor and major drainage structures, cross section templates and working drawings using Auto CAD.

Carried out topographic surveying for head works, irrigable lands, reservoirs and canals.

Prepared plans with appropriate standard scales and computed volume of earthwork.

Lay out head works including diversion weirs or dams (concrete masonry), canals, drop structures for construction purpose.
