Additionally, developed system utilities in C, ksh, Perl, and XWindows for the simplification and automation of administrative functions and also created/maintained an Apache website for the storage of escalation contacts, standard process/procedure documents, and FAQ information.

DSC, Plano, TX – Assisted this telecommunications firm to efficiently meet discovery demands of legal proceedings by developing C and ksh programs to analyze data from backup tapes and print only non-binary files. This filtered about 90% of all binary files which saved print resources and trimmed the printing effort by around 30% and allowed DSC to meet the court deadline.

BeautiControl, Inc., Carrollton, TX – Successfully prepared this cosmetics company for Y2K by reviewing their IT environment and business facilities to identify and address concerns.

GTE SOUTHWEST, San Angelo, TX 1994-1996

Computer Systems Administrator

Administered UNIX servers, MS Windows desktops, backup infrastructure, plotters, and Oracle RDBMS for central office planning at this telecommunications giant.

Saved thousands of dollars per year in software licensing for an enterprise-class monitoring and management system by internally developing custom system management applications.
