Oversees and directs the activities of the police department and its detectives. Evaluating, training, reviewing special investigations and coordinating emergency responses. Safe Waters Inc. Maritime Security Contractor.

The primary role of a maritime security contractor is to maintain the integrity of maritime security zones. These include but are not limited to: Patrol-restricted zones, waterside-restricted zones, cleared areas, ship security zones, and offshore security zones. Provide a safe environment for the crew and passengers in a covert manner through physical patrol, and in-person and electronic surveillance. Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures (WWOA), a 501 3(c) supporting our veterans, first responders, and their families with outdoor adventures free of charge. Facilitate the operation of a 72-acre parcel of land for Camp Serenity, an outdoor multi-recreational site for our Veterans and their families to enjoy at no cost. Perform a variety of complex administrative, supervisory, and professional work in planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of the Police Department. Essential Functions. Facilitate reasonable accommodations that may be necessary to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Plan, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate police department operations. Develop policies and procedures for the department that are mandated by law, to ensure efficient operations of the department, and to implement directives from the City Council or City Administrator. Plan and implement a law enforcement program for the City in order to better carry out the policies and goals of City Management and Council; review departmental performance and effectiveness, formulate programs or policies to alleviate deficiencies.

Coordinate the information gathered and work accomplished by various officers and assign officers to special investigations as the needs arose for their specific skills. Assure that personnel are assigned to shifts or working units which provide optimum effectiveness in terms of current situations and circumstances governing deployment.

Review evidence, witnesses, and suspects in criminal cases to correlate all aspects, and to assess for trends, similarities, or for associations with other cases. Supervise and coordinate the preparation and presentation of an annual budget of over seven million dollars for the department; direct the implementation of the department's budget of Eleven Million Dollars; plan for and review specifications for new or replaced equipment. Direct the development and maintenance of systems, records, and legal documents that provide for the proper evaluation, control, and documentation of the Police Department’s operations.

Coordinate and supervise the training, assignment, and development of subordinate police officers. Handle grievances, maintain departmental discipline, and maintain the conduct and general behavior of assigned personnel. Prepare and submit periodic reports to the City Administrator upon request, regarding the department's activities, and prepare a variety of other reports as appropriate. Meet with elected or appointed officials, other law enforcement officials, community and business representatives, and the public on all aspects of the department's activities.

Attended or designated personnel to attend conferences and meetings to keep abreast of current trends in the field; represent the Wildwood Police Department in a variety of local, county, state, and other meetings. Cooperate with County, State, and Federal law enforcement agencies as appropriate where activities of the police department are involved. Coordinate activities with supervisors and other city departments, and exchange information with officers in other law enforcement agencies, the District Attorney's Office, circuit courts, and other government agencies.

Obtain advice from the City Attorney, Court Administrator, and Prosecutor's Office regarding cases, policies and procedures.
