Project – 04:

Title – Business-to-Business (B2B)

Role – Developer and support

Duration: Feb 2017 to till date

Technologies – DB2, Informatica Power Center 9.6, Teradata 14, SQL server, Micro strategy, Informatica ILM and UNIX Shell scripting.

Team Size: 6

Informatica B2B platform is used to accomplish the process of receiving the claim files from clients, carriers, and other entities and to send them downstream to the HMS mainframe server or Informatica.

To achieve the above Informatica B2B Data Exchange will be used along with the integrated VL Trader Managed File Transfer tool through various types of communications based on the carriers’ requirements (i.e. FTP, SSH, FTPS, etc.).

The DX console will provide more business information about inbound and outbound files. Data contained within the events list will report all the metadata information that is essential to business needs, along with status that will keep track if the file(s) have been successful passed thru DX or if there are any errors.

The metadata information inserted into the DX Repository on a near real-time basis. Every file that passes thru DX, the metadata captures in the repository for a 30-day span before being archived. There will also be a second table for tracking metadata information for the sole purpose of storing the data at 180 days.

Project – 03:

Title – Enterprise Data warehouse

Role – Developer

Duration: July 2014 to Feb 2017

Technologies – DB2, Informatica Power Center 9.5, Teradata 14 and UNIX Shell scripting.

Team Size: 4

Involved in creating Enterprise Data warehousing model and loaded data to Teradata tables using BTEQ scripts (Dimension tables and Fact tables).

The intent of the Enterprise Claims initiative is to provide a comprehensive repository of all claim assets in one location, with consistent structure, validation and load standards, and access mechanisms.

Enterprise Claims is “another copy” of each application’s claims data but in a single standardized format for ease of access and sharing across different products and downstream applications.

Benefits of Enterprise Claims include but are not limited to:

Introduction to a true Logical claim ID

Standard data management across application frameworks and source code

Consolidates data and objects that can be accessed by many different application programs similarly.

Removal of Noise fields:

Error codes

Cal total fields

Logical delete indicators.

Project – 2:

Title – CCDB REFORMAT

Role – Developer

Duration: December 2012 to July 2014

Technologies – DB2, Informatica Power Center 8.6, Data studio and SSH secure shell.

Team Size: 5

Description:

The Consolidated Claim Data Base (CCDB) is the central repository of all claim data used throughout all eCenter applications. This Project deals with the insurance claims. Internal Clients or end client use claims data residing in the CCDB tables for analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities:

1. Gather requirements and design of data warehousing.

2. Develop an ETL process using informatica to load data from various data sources to target

Data warehouse.

3. Developed Mappings for reusable using Informatica power Center designer.

4. Involving in preparation of unit testing.

5. Also involved in other projects like OTP and EDW.

Project – 1:

Title – Calc-totals and Netting

Role –Developer

Duration: November 2011 to December 2012

Technologies – DB2, Informatica Power Center 8.6, SSH secure shell.

Team Size: 4

Worked as a developer and acquired knowledge in Calc totals, Netting and Insurance Domain.

Description:

The claim data is loaded into the Claims Table, which is a table of 16 billion Records, for different clients across US. The duplicates in this data are to be identified, tested and removed as per the specification given by client. Then the data that have received the payments has to be matched and with the unclaimed data as per the specification and flagged out. The remaining non flagged data has the claim amounts that need to be summed and presented to the clients. These workflows are to be run as per client’s requirement on weekly/monthly basis.

Key Challenges: Understanding the Calc-totals Process and developing maps for the respective claim types. Tuning the mappings to improve performance like creating partitions, setting the best suited partition types and increasing the buffer sizes. Tuning maps to develop the logic mainly in informatica rather than putting load on database.

Responsibilities: Involved in creating mappings for Calc Total Process, also to develop maps in different logic to minimize the complex code into simple understandable code and to improve the performance by implementing partitions and partition types.

Main Contribution: Providing the monthly runs and changing the existing programs if required. Also analyzed “Netting” which is handling in stored procedures and implemented the concept of “Netting” in informatica.
