Manage multiple construction projects and assure compliance with all federal and state standards related to construction on all projects. Review plans and contracts to provide guidance to contractor and construction crew working on the project. Oversee office work and assure that all work is done in compliance with office procedures manual and other NMDOT/Federal requirements.

Meet with District Management, Design engineers, Local government officials, business owners, and private citizens to coordinate and clarify issues related to project construction. Hold crew meeting periodically to inform all crew members of NMDOT directives and project issues.

Attend Design review meetings, Pre-construction conferences, Project Manager and Supervisor meetings, weekly progress meeting and public information meetings to keep informed and inform others on project and NMDOT related issues.

Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide direction to Contractor and NMDOT personnel on project related issues. Review all incoming correspondence related to project and respond as appropriate.

Duties included:

Review plans and contract to provide guidance to contractor and construction crew working on the project. Oversee office work and assure that all work is done in compliance with office the procedures manual and other NMDOT/Federal requirement. Attend plan reviews prior to construction to ensure constructability.

Supervise:

Scheduled and evaluate subordinate assignments for Office Managers and 6 inspectors for all construction operations. To insure that operations are adequately inspected and insured that all documentation is completed properly, work closely with the project superintendent to ensure contract requirements are being met and project issues are solved or escalated as needed. Provided training to inspectors that are assigned to me to better understand the plans and specifications.

Meshed and calculated rebar, concrete quantities for CBC, Wing walls, abutments, piers, pier caps, slop blanket, aprons, Pier/abutment diaphragms, bridge decks and Drill shafts, Managed more than 4 bridge deck placements, monitoring evaporation rate, weather, ensuring bridge load requirement are met, ensuring minimum testing requirements are met as well as verifying Clarence’s tolerances are met during the dry run, Backfilled CBC, CMP, Abutment back walls and retaining walls.

Traffic Control:

Managed multiple project Traffic Control operations to include rural and urban projects, verifying traffic control meets the requirements in the plans and current MUTCD at the same time ensuring the safety needs of the pedestrians and travelling public are met, performed day and night time inspections and ensued the contractor maintained the traffic control diary.

Lead Tech

Coordinate and direct all phases of project-based efforts while assisting to Supervise, motivate, and lead multiple personnel on several projects with in Dis-1 and Dis-2.
