Hello Wintrust Human Resources Department,

My name is Samir Ozaki, I am writing to apply for the Wintrust DEI internship. I am a senior at California State University Monterey Bay studying sociology with a minor in business management and administration. My background is uniquely suited for working in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion field as I am Japanese, Pakistani, and European while being raised as a Muslim. The background I come from has given me a unique outlook into the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for which I am excited and prepared to enter. I feel as though everyone should have a voice, and all too often, too many voices go unheard within the work environment. I have interacted with all kinds of people, and feel comfortable in almost any social situation. I am excited about the opportunity to gain practical experience in the human resources field and contribute to your company's success in whatever way possible.

My sociology coursework has given me a strong understanding of organizational behavior, communication, diversity, and research. I have learned how to effectively communicate with people from different backgrounds and understand the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. My minor in business management and administration has given me a solid foundation in business principles and the ability to think strategically and on my feet. I have experience working in a team environment, as well as experience in customer service and problem-solving. I am confident in my ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and adapt to new situations. One of my best traits is that I am always looking to grow and get better meaning I will always strive for self-improvement.

I am excited about applying for the opportunity to work with the team at Wintrust and am excited to contribute to the company as well as learn from it. I am available to start as soon as possible and am willing to work flexible hours. My plan is to have a future working in HR and recruiting/talent acquisition.
