Responsible for all non-emergency news releases for the District, requiring strong attention to detail, collaboration with other departments and staff in District Schools, and working relationship with members of print, radio and television media.
Responsible for planning and organizing District's celebrations, including Employee Recognition, Teacher of the Year and the Retirement party. The Employee Recognition is for 1,500 employees, the Teacher of the Year and the Retirement party are for approximately 400 employees and family members. This requires identifying the employees eligible to attend, sending invitations, making biographies to include in the programs, procurement of the room and decorating the venue, ordering the awards and ensuring correct spellings, seating the guests and ensuring the event's speakers know where to be and what to do. Responsible for District's Cable Access Channel. These tasks require strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Work as "face of the District." The receptionist for the District is the first impression for all employees and families new to the District, requiring a cheerful disposition and strong knowledge of District functions to ensure calls and visitors are all routed to the correct person.
