As the Director of Nursing, I am responsible for a nursing staff of approximately 55 nurses as well as the CMA staff, and a 192 bed facility. This encompasses overseeing the nursing care for our clients coming into detox, and/or stepping down into short-term or long-term residential care. This is a dual modality facility. Therefore, our focus is on their recovery and their state of mental health. I manage the staffing, orientation, education and evaluation of the nurses. I work with the medical/ psychiatric providers and the clinical staff to ensure the best plan of care and highest potential of recovery and stability for our clients. I also work with NJ DOH, reporting any new onset of infectious disease, including any COVID 19 outbreaks. I am on-call 24/7 for triage, staffing and/or client concerns.
