As a senior member of the consultants group at Fox & Angel, my role is to initiate FDI activities in India. For this, I utilize my extensive global contacts, associates, past employers, distributors and social acquaintances. I also participate in assisting potential overseas clients in finding business partners in India as well as introducing Indian companies to extend their wings in overseas markets. I am open to all industries but having spent over three decades in an FMCG/F&B environment, I naturally am biased towards this segment.

e-commerce and new product development activities. Aachi is a well-known Indian brand name in the spices, RTE and RTC food segments.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Himalya Simplot Private Limited, Gurugram, India

Set up and headed the Indian regional operations of a new Indo-American Joint Venture engaged in the manufacture, domestic distribution and export of FMCG products to a wide client base in India, Middle East, Africa and Asia. Supervising a team of nearly 450, I was tasked to grow the business to USD 55.0 million per annum in 3 years. I reported to the Board of Directors.

Simplot is among the world leading, vertically integrated operation in potato-based products and a leading global supplier to the institutional and QSR segments. It also owns some of the world-famous food brands such as Birds Eye, Leggo's, Chiko, Edgell, John West, Lean Cuisine, and Top Cut.

Jan 2004 – Aug 2011

Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Ajit Khimji Group of Companies, Muscat, Oman

Headed the group's 21 different profit centers, setting strategic direction with full responsibility for bottom-line factors including long range planning, sourcing global partnerships and provided cross functional management. Supervised three Group General Managers, Group Financial Controller, Group HR and Administration Manager and 21 Divisional General Managers across a diverse range of operations employing around 600.

Redefined the organizational structure, corporate policies and practices and performed monthly evaluation of financial results while reporting to the Board of Directors. With complete P&L responsibilities, delivered a group turnover of nearly OMR 4.8 million per annum during the first year as well as a YOY growth of 11 - 13%. This group is among the top ten corporations in Oman and is engaged in multiple production, distribution and service related activities including media advertising, construction, interior décor, luxury retail, duty free shops, gourmet food and QSR outlets, car rentals, book stores, tyre re-treading, laundry services and chemicals distribution.

Jan 1996 – Dec 2003

General Manager - Truebell Marketing & Trading LLC, Dubai, UAE

Started a new division within the Truebell Group with independent Profit Centre responsibilities. Conceived and positioned the operation as a leading supplier to the HoReCa, Retail, Wholesale, Diplomatic and Duty-Free segments in the Indian Ocean, SAARC, ASEAN, Africa and GCC countries, achieving a turnover of nearly USD 24.0 million per annum. Grew the business into the SAARC, ASEAN, African and CIS territories successfully, achieving leadership position in most of them. I reported to the Managing Director of the group.

Was seconded to the Vietri Pasta Co. of Italy (one of our top business associates) to setup a turnkey trading operation in Singapore in July 1999. Supervised the sales into the HoReCa, QSR, retail and re-export segments in ASEAN, SAARC, Middle East and Africa.

Truebell is a leading HoReCa, Wholesale and Retail F&B supplier in the UAE and also operates duty-free shops and alcoholic beverages distribution through its own operations in the UAE, Oman, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, India, Maldives, Oman, Sri Lanka and Canada.

I was assigned the task of setting up and running the first overseas branch for this leading exporter of American F&B products and Groceries in Dubai,UAE. Handled the Middle East, Africa, Levant, SAARC, ASEAN and Western Europe markets. I was relocated to the HQ in USA in Nov 1991 to head the global export operations and additionally supervised the Caribbean, and Nordic markets. Suma was subsequently acquired by the Rastelli Food Group of NJ, USA.
