WORK EXPERIENCE

Director of Development GM&F Consultants inc

2023 – 2024 Moncton, NB

• Designed entire Donor strategy for a small nonprofit organization to grow donor base and create financial sustainability.

• Introduced new Donor development model and created procedural handbook and training manual for all areas of the new program. Devised a strategy with emphasis on increasing brand awareness, expanding the reach and name of organization and growing the donor base. Strategy steps below.

• Worked with our marketing department to create a monthly giving campaign goal to raise 200 monthly donors by end of 2023 with “Sustainability” as the main theme. Grew monthly giving program from six donors to 148 donors within just 6 months. Acquired large amount of new monthly donors through outreaches, events, marketing on socials, website, mailings & e-blasts.

• Trained staff and residents in Outreach best practices (setup, presentation, testimonials, time-management) as outreach is a proven and effective development model for Christian drug & alcohol treatment programs for all areas of fundraising.

• Organized and executed First Annual Gala event which raised over double the initial predicted revenue. Was the first time, and hopefully the last, that I’ve organized an event with no initial budget!

• The planning was successful through acquiring 5-7 corporate and general event sponsors (Gold, Silver, Bronze) up front to cover the costs of the venue, planning the event, meal and other components. Major donor invites, table sales 70% ticket sales 30% split and a dessert auction resulted in large amount raised at the event while having already covered all costs and raised 40% of the revenue pre-Gala.

• Created a “Call centre” work detail for residents of the centre and trained a current Graduate staff member in all areas of Development ensuring at least one part time staff would be able to oversee the call centre - donor calls, scripting and list management, the master donor list and Yearly events.

• Implemented an internship program in discussion with Centre Director to have Development positions available as internship options post program for Graduates. This ensured that, essentially, the organization became twofold – Program & Development.

• Trained two additional interns to ensure the Development program and best practices were transferred down to new interns. This, along with the new Development manual ensured a strong foundation was created for longevity of the Development model.

• Management of CRM and data ensuring info is up to date. Timely management and implementation of Donor relations protocols – Thank you calls, Major Gift identification, cultivation & solicitation, tracking progress, growing donor base, increase Direct mail and E-blast lists. Update and track donor data continuously to ensure data integrity, donor giving increase and new donor acquisitions are managed with good stewardship. • Only Prospect Researcher for $26 million Capital Campaign for Teen Challenge Canada from 2016-2022 dedicated to renovation of buildings at existing centres and expanding and building entirely new centres across Canada. We met and exceeded the goal across all Development teams at 9 locations.
