Large business: At Tenet Healthcare Corporation, created and developed the Florida hospital region’s Accountable Care Organization (“ACO”) under the government’s Affordable Care Act. Contracted over 700 primary and specialty care physicians as well as national commercial and government health plans (Aetna, Cigna, Florida Blue, Medicare), to reduce and manage healthcare costs while increasing quality and patient satisfaction. Aligned the ACO with several non-profits and created & operated numerous community outreach initiatives to help families prevent health issues and avoid hunger, homelessness, and hospitalization. Led and managed the operations of the Tenet Florida ACO enabling it to earn the national reputation as a leading commercial ACO and the company’s largest, most profitable and accomplished accountable care organization across the country. Also served on the corporate managed care team in Dallas to develop the national ACO initiative built on the same architecture and operating model as the Florida ACO.

At Allianz of North America, executed an operational restructure of a $100 million plus subsidiary insurance and financial services brokerage agency. Right sized the organization by eliminating 13 positions and by restructuring Sales, Marketing, New Business and Finance/Accounting departments saving over $10 million in annual costs. Managed the financial risks of the business as the acting CFO by eliminating or renegotiating over $2 million in annual costs from underperforming contractual obligations. Created and monitored Performance Measures for the monitoring of performance and consideration of efficiency verses effectiveness.

Medium sized business: At Bravo! Brands Inc., managed and was directly responsible for all aspects of the right sizing of the business, cutting the monthly cash burn from $1.2 million monthly to under

$200,000. Cut staff in excess of 70% while improving response time and accountability. Eliminated unprofitable national distribution agreement and secured a new national distributor, doubling gross margin to 32%. Eliminated onerous supply agreement saving $13 million in annual costs and renegotiated supply agreement with major processor eliminating over $3 million in past due payments while keeping all production flowing. Developed and managed licensing agreements with several non-profits, including the Diabetes Research Institute, American Heart Association and Cancer Federation. Created & operated numerous community outreach initiatives to help families avoid hunger and homelessness.

Small business: At Weight For Me Inc., founded and operated the nation’s first and largest Pediatric and Adolescent Weight Control Center directed to over 12 million affected children nationwide. Led the company to earn a national reputation as the premier program for controlling obesity in children and teenagers.
