I am applying to work in the emergency department because I would like to expand my learning and ability in the nursing field. Working in the ER will give me a chance to help patients as they first walk through the door and supply care for them as they are first finding out what is wrong. I will be able to grow as a nurse in the emergency department, by learning how to triage the patients and expanding on supplying care for the more critical patients. I will be able to develop my critical thinking skills more as I see these patients come in the hospital for the first time. I would like to be able to take the skills I expand on in the ER when I travel to other countries to supply care as well.

Some relevant qualifications/ work achievements are BSN in Nursing from Pensacola Christian College, and I did my preceptorship at Sacred Heart Hospital in the Emergency Room. I am currently working at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia on a Medical/Surgical floor.
