I have over 25 years of experience working in Washington, D.C. I began as a restaurant server and worked hard to make my way to my current position alongside Mayor Muriel Bowser in the Executive Office of the Mayor. In my position working in the Mayor’s Office of Nightlife and Culture, I have been coordinating with government agencies to support small businesses helping to improve the success of our local economy and quality of life for District residents. I am now looking forward to taking the next step in my career.

FEBRUARY 2019 – PRESENT

EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR/ MAYOR’S OFFICE OF NIGHTLIFE AND CULTURE/ASSISTANT TO DIRECTOR/COMMUNITY OUTREACH SPECIALIST

As the community outreach specialist for the Mayor’s Office of Nightlife and Culture, I was privileged to be able to assist small business owners and residents across the District. My primary duty was case work assisting businesses facing a wide range of problems. I also mediated between neighbors and businesses. I was integral with helping the business community by helping them pivot during the pandemic. I actively canvassed across the city to educate businesses about rapidly changing pandemic guidelines, facilitated the Streatery Winter Ready Grant, and guided District employees with navigating unemployment insurance issues. I created the T Street Task Force, addressing issues of homelessness and drug abuse affecting our citizens and small businesses. Working with and developing relationships with government agencies, residents and community organizations has been a wonderful experience allowing me to grow professionally while assisting my community.

Achievements with MONC:

Resolved approximately 2,000 cases ranging from grant education to unemployment insurance assistance, assisting businesses struggling with permitting/licensing processes and addressing community concerns

Hosted quarterly roundtables to address business/community issues

Hosted frequent safety meetings addressing active threat for businesses

Facilitated the 2020 Mayor’s Office of Nightlife and Culture Report

Expedited the Streatery Winter Ready Grant awarding 542 businesses $3,252,000 to assist them with surviving during the pandemic

Integral in creating and assisting the Multi-Agency Nightlife Task Force servicing busy nightlife corridors in the District to reduce crime associated with nightlife activity

Created the T Street Task Force comprised of District government agencies, business owners, school officials and members of the community to address concerns of homelessness and open-air drug use

MARCH 2016 – FEBRUARY 2019

H2 COLLECTIVE/OPERATIONS MANAGER

I managed approximately 100 employees for restaurant concepts inside the Pod Hotel in Chinatown. The employees traversed between 3 unique restaurants requiring excellent organizational skills. I was charged with human resources, accounting/payroll and front of house management.

U STREET MUSIC HALL/BARTENDER

I spent nearly a decade serving the District while patrons enjoyed some of the best national/international and local talent. This allowed me to further develop interpersonal skills while managing a fast-paced intense environment.
