• This job is in a luxury golf community where all visitors, vendors or workers are required to be called in by the homeowner or employees of the community. I was required to vet all persons entering the community.

• Three patrols a shift was required to assure all gates were closed and secure, in addition to the security of residences; many of which were empty at different times of the year.

• Security would sign for packages (some of which were confidential and others which could be quite expensive), maintaining a chain of custody, essentially.

• Responded to emergency circumstances while awaiting police arrival, alarms, medical emergencies, fire, flood etc.

• Reports were done on crime or incidences. All employees were required to communicate clearly and concisely via phone and in person, as the majority of the job was dealing with the public.

• As this community sits on a PGA golf course, numerous tournaments were held throughout the season, requiring security to work with professional athletes, celebrities and representatives of the event. These large events required much strategic planning as our first priority, was maintaining the integrity and safety of the community, while thousands of persons were on and off property throughout the event.

• During such events, staff worked closely with vendors, event support staff, local law enforcement and FBI personnel to maintain strategic plans for security and emergency management in the event any circumstances arose requiring response from medical, fire or police personnel.

• All communication between security and the main gatehouse was done via handheld radio both during patrol, as well as during events. Knowledge and use of radios and dispatch procedure was of utmost importance.

• Ability to act quickly and remaining calm during high stress circumstances, was of paramount importance.

• Attention to detail was also required in the event of an emergency circumstance where pertinent information had to be relayed to the main gatehouse or emergency responders; accurately communicating detailed information both verbally and in written reports was absolutely crucial.
