Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer (Remote position on closed ended contract with DonaTech Corp.)

Position included Supplier oversite and Management for (20 with active PO’s) Suppliers based in the Western LA Region supporting various BAE Programs. About 30% travel is required. Was responsible for Quality process oversite during all phases of PO execution, including SCAR initiation and follow up, in order to close gaps in the suppliers QMS. Worked closely with Program Procurement with supplier base and sub tier suppliers during RCCA activities. Performed various on-site supplier Quality process audits/assessments as well as Virtual Meetings when applicable. Maintained Suppliers Metrics and focused on Supplier Engagements to assist during Program Quality issues. Was involved with Supplier Net Inspect FAIR reviews and approvals. Completed detail Source Inspection at Supplier site to mitigate shipping defective product. Much of this experience focused on MIL-STD-883 Requirements after Completion of TJ Green MIL-STD-883 Certifications. Source Inspection involving Pre Cap review of RF electronics. Experience approving and rejecting per MIL-STD-883 at Supplier sites during Source Inspection/Validation. Received Training for AQPQ for AS9145 PO flow down Requirements. Supplier Quality Engineer (on closed ended contract)

Position included Supplier oversite and Management for (12) Suppliers based in the Western LA Region supporting various Aircraft Programs including F35, F22, F16, C130, P3 and U2 platforms. Supplier oversite involved various LM Surveillance requirements, FAIR Reviews and Final Product Acceptance activities. Extensive use of the LM tool sets used, involving metrics developed for each Supplier. Was responsible for Quality process oversite during all phases of PO execution, including SCAR initiation and closure with acceptable MoE. Worked closely with supplier base and sub tier suppliers during RCCA activities. Responsible for the Maintenance of supplier access to the LM databases and navigation of the LM portals and system accesses.

Performed various supplier Quality process audits, as required as well as MRO supplier process control.

Worked with LM Integration Engineers and FSQE during Failure/noncompliance RCCA’s investigations, and with Supply Chain Management during PO execution. Had oversite for supplier LM EIA delegation when appropriate and DSI training compliance reviews.

Supported various Acceptance and Qualification Testing for Space flight hardware including large mesh antenna arrays. Qualification and ATP testing included Vibration, Thermal Vacuum Testing as well as advanced materials Qualifications. Representing Quality Assurance my role was to support current customer builds, both Design/Development and Production contracts.

Used SPC to develop process metrics in order to validate continuous improvement planning for the current factory processes.

Current Review and resolution of non-conforming materials and working with Manufacturing Engineering on customer/process issues.

Manufacturing Quality Engineer (on closed ended contract)

This contract position was required to capture and fully document both “Tribal knowledge” and “Hidden Factory” through the use of videotaping and photographing actual manufacturing processes real time while interviewing the production employees responsible for the various tasks.

Detailed documentation was completed using Manufacturing work instruction style documents.

Supplier Quality Engineer_ Site Surveillance for L3 Corp. (on closed ended contract)

This Contract position was required to support the transition and Qualification of pcba’s from the transfer of one facility to this site.

SQE role includes on site Source Inspection, review and approval of all AS9102 FAIR’s and data package deliverables.

Review of current Work Instructions included, process efficiency and validation during the FAIR review to ensure the command media is robust and capable.

FAIR review included verification and validation of all trace requirements and Objective evidence to the materials and processes. Site surveillance and process improvement review/evaluation.

SCAR and CA review and support.

Statuses RMA’s and help to communicate in conjunction with Benchmark, the process weakness to drive change necessary to improve the “current state”.

There are (3) different L3 site production builds supported here as this in-house process continues to be sourced to Contract Manufacturing.

Weekly Con calls with the various divisions allow this site to communicate current scheduling and process issues to help the planning process for the customer, L3.

This program is a major undertaking with over 150 total pcba assemblies from 3 different sites to be coordinated and qualified to L3’s requirements and AS9102 FAIR’s.

Sr. Quality Engineer (on closed ended contract)

This Contract position plan was to complete internal auditing in preparation for AS9100 REV D Registrar’s audit within a six-week time frame.

The QMS areas I audited included: Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement, In-coming Receiving Inspection, In-process Inspection, Final Inspection including the FAA Repair Station and Configuration Management.

Initiated ICAR’s in response to minor non-conformances in place for the audit.

Completed Internal Audit Summary Reports and objective evidence packages that were stored electronically for review during the Registrars audit.

The AS9100 REV D audit was successfully passed on time in mid- February.

Tecom Designs and Manufactures Antenna systems for both commercial and military applications. Contract extended to support customer base Quality issues.

High-level programs for the Navy had Quality issues in the supply chain and I worked to help qualify a new supplier mid-stream in the contract life as part of a CA from the customer SCAR.

Worked closely with the new supplier to ensure robust process controls are in place for the key issues arising during the lessons learned review.

Several other Supplier based rejections created major program scheduling impacts and similar process auditing and CA changes were followed thru in order to improve the current supplier base issues.

Quality Engineer

Worked with integrated product team to relocate entire aircraft lighted panel product line to Carson, CA.

Worked with and scheduled inspection team to validate FAIs through detailed measurement analysis using various measurement tools, including Video CMM.

Reviewed and approved hundreds of AS9102 reports for customer approval and re-qualification.

Coordinated with ME team members to drive the rework or repair customer returns using the RMA process.

Working with sales and the RMA coordinator, I tracked all returns to maintain return schedule visibility.

Responsible for responding to all related SCARs against RMAs, I developed a tracking method to ensure that on-time responses and closed loop corrective actions were in place as needed.

Worked with Customer SQE to review and close SCARs, provided objective evidence showing CAs in place, and communicated various actions as it pertains to customer satisfaction (VOC).

As a member of the CAB (Corrective Action Board), I was responsible for maintaining a SCAR (supplier) and ICAR (internal) tracking database for driving CAB meeting metrics needed for review/approval and closure of all corrective actions.

Developed and maintained metrics (First Pass Yield) (VOB) for all product line SCRAP, in-process rejections DMR [discrepant material report] MRR [material review request], and LPL customer returns (RMAs) and posted metrics for report to upper management. Metrics consisted of all YTD, MTD, and weekly “current state” for the entire LPL (lighted panel line).

Successfully completed two Lean Six Sigma projects, one for RMA turn time and one for control and quarantining of suspect/discrepant materials.

Hosted MRB meetings with team members and maintained metrics to drive closed-loop corrective actions.

Reviewed all Manufacturing document changes to validate root cause and initiate corrective actions.

Maintained SCARs and internal follow-up to ensure compliance to all quality requirements as set forth in both our own and our customers’ POs/statements of work.

Worked with SCM to return, correct, or acquire proper certifications as required for our customers’ quality requirements flow down.

Reviewed and approved FAIs as needed by the customers’ FAI Quality requirements.
