I have had experience, beginning with my first jobs years ago, in a fast food restaurant, waitressing, hostessing, retail, receptionist, and a career, as a Speech Therapist. I tutored in Reading, with elementary aged students, in a school classroom, for 3 months, the year before I retired. After retiring, I was a Nanny, and an assistant in a Special Education classroom. I have many interests, a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and would enjoy working with the elderly, young people, or animals. Authorized to work in the US for any employer

Skills
• As a Speech/Language Therapist, I gave hearing tests to students in all classes, along with one other therapist. I gave a section of a language articulation test to all students, along with another therapist. This gave us a starting point, for which children would need therapy for speech sound, language, voice, and/ or stuttering remediation. I sent letters out to parents to have an initial meeting to discuss a plan and permission to work with for their child. I planned each session for approximately 35 to 75 students who I would work with, weekly. I filled out on the computer, what became, a very lengthy education plan for each student, focusing on their goals and objectives, and time frame for remediation. I filled out medicaid forms for each qualified student. I attendes speech meetings as well as weekly to bi weekly teacher meetings after school. (10+ years)

Additional Information
I anticipate beginning a new area of work, whether it be with people, animals or nature! I want to know that my energy, time, and efforts are making a difference, for others, in whatever I undertake! My limitation is not standing for long periods of time in one spot on concrete floors or lifting a lot of weight, but I can walk quickly for long periods of time.
