I adhere to all safety precautions; wearing gloves, masks, and disposal of needles in its proper hazard bin. I label vials with patient names and dates. I decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient when performing venipunctures and/or capillary punctures. I transport all specimen samples to a nearby laboratory. I work with a large number of patients varying in age and health status. I’m friendly, courteous and sympathetic when it comes to working with patients. I keep my phlebotomy cart and station sterilized and well-organized at all times. I also practice infection control standards at all times when working with patients and equipment.
