Captain Jose T. Martinez has a total of 20 years of military credible service. CPT Martinez first joined the Marine Delayed Entry Program (October 27, 1996) and was initiated into Marine Corps Boot Camp July 15, 1997. Thereafter he served six years as a U.S. Marine on Active duty until November 10, 2002. He then completed eight years in the Marine Corps Reserves (as a Motor Transportation Manager, Reconnaissance Marine, Watch Chief) obtaining his highest enlisted rank of Gunnery Sergeant (E-7) before joining the Army National Guard in 2010. He participated in the NM Army National Guard Officer Candidate Program and graduated from OCS September 11, 2011. He served six years as a 12A Engineer Officer (Platoon Leader and Company Commander) for 920th Engineer Company and also worked in the 111th MEB, Brigade Staff team. 2LT Martinez' performance has been commensurate with his grade and time in service. He ensured all required missions, pre-mobilization training and assigned tasks were completed to standard. He supported the unit in preparing for COMET and CSDP inspections during inactive duty training (IDT)

status.

2LT Martinez supported the unit with preparing 92 pieces of heavy engineer equipment for rail operations at Fort Bliss TX. He completed the Contracting Officer's Representative Course. He facilitated the increase of average APFT score from 191 to 220, a 12% improvement in his platoon.

Participate as the Commander's Inquiry Official during Annual Training Venue as the Investigating Officer; also assisted in Safety Investigation and provided recommendations to the Inspection Inquiry Team during FY 14 to improve overall safety for unit. Lead numerous convoys throughout NM; one particular occasion included leading a 19-vehicle convoy with 60 Soldiers to respond and provide fire and emergency evacuation relief to NM fires in Ruidoso. Lead and supervised Soldiers during convoy and security and emergency checkpoints; enhanced security concepts, methods, and procedures and protection requirements per joint coordination with local law enforcement and surrounding community.

Participated as the Investigating Officer for 8 FLIPLs for the battalion completing 100% of the Investigations and sending results on time. Counseled Readiness NCO on great feedback that was given by the Battalion AO for a positive outcome on one FLIPL that resulted in the member only paying 10 % cost of the item damaged, significantly less than original cost. Developed and disseminated over (20) transfer requests, updating transfer tracker monthly.

Lead security patrol and emergency response teams around a 24 hour/7-day schedule and ensured safety and well-being of Soldiers and citizens of Ruidoso during Task Force Blazing Bear Mission. Developed and issued daily and specific Risk assessments

(safety and health) for the duration of the operation. Drafted and prepared After Action Reviews for these real-world exercises. Approved leave as necessary through Red Cross, and ensured technical guidance, after action reviews, performance management, and preparation and editing of all emergency plans completed for daily mission briefs.

Ensured all his Soldiers were enrolled in SSD1; four completed SSD1. One graduated WLC and one graduated from ALC. DMOSQ rate of his platoon was 90 percent (34 PAX). Achieved a 98 percent (36 PAX) pass rate in small arms qualification. Assisted in the retention of 24 Soldiers by laterally

transferring them to other units within the NMARNG. Prepared the unit for CDSP, CLERT, and COMET Unit Federal Recognition Inspections. Provided assistance to Georgia Red horse Support Mission and provided Soldiers to assist on Runway development project.

Lead a Platoon of 85 personnel in all training aspects of Engineer Operations including Pre-mobilization and combat requirements. Additionally, served as the Movement Transportation Officer and coordinated transportation teams for movement of horizontal engineer assets for railhead movement in preparation of NTC training venue. Prepared the Annual YTC for our unit for FY 2010-2012 and developed METL for an Engineer Company during the same IDT period.

-Served as a Division Gunnery Sergeant supervising over 250 + Marines with MARFORPAC; provided Technical and Administrative direction in Emergency Tactical Operations and World-wide Security missions
