As an auditor IV I designed programs to examine, investigate, and review records, reports, financial statements, information systems, and management practices of school districts and open charters to ensure legal compliance with state and federal laws and rules and organizational policies and procedures. My work involved the following essential functions:

Conducting field and desk audits to obtain adequate competent evidential matter to provide a reasonable basis for findings and conclusions; using general accepted accounting principles, general accepted auditing procedures, the application of accounting concepts, terminology, theories to gather audit support, and evidence through inspection, observation, and enquiries.

Researching, designing, planning, preparing, and modifying planned work programs to ensure that the audit risks were identified and addressed in the field and desk audit program. The research included new legislative laws both proposed and passed to access the impact and future audit objectives.

Accomplishments as an auditor:

As a grant coordinator II, I performed advanced grant development and coordination. Work involved coordinating, reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating numerous state and federal grant applications to determine appropriateness and compliance with grant program requirements and standards. Serves as a liaison between state or federal government and subgrantees. My work involved the following essential functions:

Conducting the program and fiscal review, analysis, and negotiation of a large volume of paper and eGrants applications and amendments to ensure adherence to program and fiscal requirements as well as applicable laws, regulation, and guidance.

Completing eGrants budget adjustments to incorporate carryover, reallocation, and/or final award amounts into subgrantees approved budgets.

Providing assistance and technical support to internal and external customers on grant compliance issues and TEA systems such as eGrants, TEAL, TGIF, and division databases.

Completing user acceptance testing for eGrants and suggests modifications to SAS, application instructions, and other grant related documents to ensure quality grant documents are published.

Assisting with other duties as needed, such as training other staff in processes and procedures and maintaining division databases and systems.

Accomplishments as a grant coordinator:

Reviewed, negotiated, and approved original Federal and State eGrants applications to next level review within forty-five calendar days of assignment. In the past 2 years I have processed all the formula grants for Regions 2,4,5 and 98 % of the grants met the formative metric.

Reviewed, negotiated, and approved original PDF Federal and State grant applications from diverse ESC Regions within thirty calendar days of assignment.90 % of the grants met the formative metrics.

Reviewed, negotiated, and approved Federal and State paper and eGrants amendments to next level review within thirty calendar days of assignment. In a quarter I processed 216 eGrants amendments and approximately 98% of the amendments met the formative metric.

Completed budget adjustments for assigned regions/grants within the deadlines established by supervisor (approximately 2 weeks). Surpass the formative metric within two days of assignment for more than 150 grants.
