Production Controller, South West Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) July 2019– November 2022 40 hours per week $103,244 (Government Salary Pay Scale)GS-1101-12-04 Assigned to LCS Class Team to manage, maintain, and integrate the work identified for each project by sequencing and scheduling all work to support the Project Teams strategy. Establish work priorities for shipboard work, shop production work, and technical document preparation to ensure that jobs are executed in order of priorities.I review all new work to verify the work can be accomplished using available resources and in established plant conditions.I make recommendations to Department Head and Branch Supervisor for work to be accepted or not based on the impact of the new work on availability schedules. II monitor the progress of the overhaul or availability and provide assistance and direction to resolve schedule problems. I issue and update schedules, sequences, and ad hoc reports to support the full range of shipyard projects concerned with producing, overhauling and redesigning or components.

Shipbuilding Specialist, South West Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) September 2015 – 2019 (40 hours per week, Salary $70,118.00 GS-1101-11 Lead Shipbuilding Specialist (SBS) for USS Gabrielle Gifford (LCS-10). Actively works with all levels of the Fleet, In-Service Engineering Agents (ISEAs), Planning Yards, Program Offices, and Systems to improve ship material condition, maintenance, logistics, and modernization and reports status to the ship project manager. Extensive experience with USS Freedom (LCS-1) Variant and USS Independence (LCS-2) Variant. Worked with LCS Squadron ONE to develop the LCS class maintenance processes to provide new and innovative solutions in maintaining a minimally manned crew.

Establish planned and emergent unplanned availabilities in the Navy Maintenance Program of Record and Navy Maintenance Database (NMD) in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM). Process brokered work notifications in NMD ensuring work is valid and achievable for both time and budget constraints for each availability.

Knowledgeable in contract administration, procurement, planning, Quality Assurance (QA), test and inspections, and project coordination., l or disapproval. Request engineering support via Engineering Service Requests (ESRs) when required. Develop Request for Contract Changes (RCCs) and Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) for timely receipt of funds. Provide supporting data for IGEs to justify labor and material costs to assist in negotiations.

Monitor daily work progress and status of milestone reviews to ensure timely completion of work. Assist in resolution of scheduling conflicts between contractors, Ship’s Force, and other Government activities. Attend daily and weekly conferences with Ship’s Force, contractor representatives, and SWRMC personnel to discuss progress and promote on time delivery. Prevent unauthorized ship modifications and alterations by ensuring contractors complete deliverables in accordance with the specifications.

Conduct ship test and inspections to ensure work performed meets engineering and quality assurance standards. Enforce NAVSEA Technical Authority in everyday work. Maintain material control, investigate availability of materials, and review logistics plan to ensure proper flow of all required materials. Review and analyze technical feedback and problem reports to update future technical requirements and reduce costs. Coordinate and lead end of availability lessons learned conferences; develop project workflow plans and coordinate initiatives to reduce adverse process trends.

- Lead Outside Machinist, BAE Systems SDSR 2014-2015 (40-70 hours per week) Perform as Lead Machinist Tradesman for the Mechanical Systems Department. Assign and supervise the day-to-day efforts of personnel including journeymen, improvers and helpers. Direct and monitor performance during execution of Ship Restricted Availability (SRA) Continues Maintenance Availabilities (CMAV) and Emergency Restricted Availabilities (ERAV), Assign personnel to complete job requirements while controlling overtime, ensuring accuracy of time sheets, and reporting all time charges. Ensure material is at the job site in a timely manner, personnel have proper protective equipment and personal tools to perform their job, all work areas are maintained, and safety policies and practices are followed. Comply with BAE Systems Affirmative Action Policy and conduct Safety meetings. Assume Foreman responsibilities as needed and submit reports for proper turnover. Areas of responsibility include:

•Manage up to 15-20 assigned personnel to accomplish requirement of the basic work

package including growth work in support of avail milestone/key event timeline.

Process Work Authorization Forms and Tag outs to determine equipment as found condition

•Coordinate removal, installation, alignment, and operational testing of auxiliary systems for multiple class war fighting vessels main and auxiliary equipment including, pumps, motors, valves, propulsion shafts and line shaft bearing in an efficient work manner to limit cost and schedule delays for our customer.

•Accomplished various overhauls on equipment included just Morse 38 1/8 OP SSDG and Colt PC 2.5 MPDE power packs in accordance with technical requirements to achieve certification for multiple hulls in the LSD and LPD program.

•Oversight on MDPE and SSDG power pack overhauls using technical expertise and technical requirements

•Conduct quality assurance checkpoints with government personnel to include Technical Matter Experts, Quality Assurance Specialists and Shipbuilding Specialists.

-Journeyman, BAE Systems SDSR 2010-2014

Accomplish the requirements for removal, installation, and testing of main and auxiliary shipboard equipment including but not limited to: main reduction gears, pumps, hydraulics, steam equipment, propellers, and bearings. Accomplish requirements in accordance with technical manuals, prints, expanded process control procedures, and process control procedures. Operate a wide variety of tools and machinery. Assist and instruct Helper and Improver level Machinists as necessary. Perform pre/post operational tests on fire main, auxiliary seawater valves, and fire pumps. Accomplish repair of MPDE power pack, injection pump, injection pump drive, fuel rack, cylinder replacement, jacket water header, injection nozzle, and conduct readings.

-Improver, BAE Systems SDSR 2008-2010

Perform repair, removal and installation of mechanical components on shipboard systems to include diesel engines, pumps, stern gates, deck equipment, propulsion shafting, and valves. Skillful in using electric, hydraulic and pneumatic shop equipment, and power tools.

Disassemble and dimensionally inspect equipment and reassemble equipment using blueprints to OEM specifications. Utilize measuring instruments including micrometers, scales, gages, etc. to set and adjust machine and bearing clearances, gear thrusts, and backlash. Set up and test overhauled equipment in accordance with shipboard procedures.
