Summary
Retail and customer service professional. I have managerial experience and skills on both a departmental and store level.
Experience
I held a variety of positions at Sierra Trading Post in my 21 plus years with the company. All positions held were initiated by myself. The company preferred hiring from within. I started out as a customer service representative, taking phone orders and inputting mail orders into the system. I then worked in returns. Order pulling. Stocking. Receiving. Stocking again. Stocking corrections--this is a specialty and troubleshooting position. Finally finishing as a shipper. I spent a minimum of one year in each of these positions.
All positions held were to fulfill and process customer orders and returns. To meet and/or exceed customer expectations.
I was hired as the automotive department manager. I then made a lateral move to become the department manager of three departments. Electronics, chemicals and paper goods (household chemicals), and furniture. I was then part of a team that traveled to other stores for grand openings and remodels. I finished up as the department manager over impulse sale items. Ordering stock and merchandising departments. Supervising from four to fifteen employees. Writing schedules and making sure the department was staffed. Ordering for and merchandising special promotions. Operation of cash registers and computers. Use of a handheld order system.I am very proud to say that while the department head of automotive, it was top ten in the company.
Setting and/or re-setting departments using modular planograms/schematics. Inventory control.
Sales of automotive parts and accessories, including tires. Writing and coding of work order/invoices for the service department. Selling and ordering of the necessary parts to complete the repairs on customers vehicle. Up-selling of extended repair and warranty services. Supervision of four to six employees. Customer service inquiries and/or concerns. Merchandising. Cash and daily sales records. Payroll. Scheduling. Ordering. Inventory control. Automotive Merchandiser
