DIOCESE OF METUCHEN – Piscataway, NJ 1983- Jan 2016 Executive Director of Administrative Services (2007-January 2016) Advanced and given full responsibility for Finance, Insurance, Facilities, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Cemetery Operations for 630,000+ member diocese. Manage and optimize accounting, financing, budgeting, cash management, debt placement and negotiation, financial planning and analysis, and insurance and risk management strategies. Monitor and ensure that all financial systems and controls adhere to best practices and support growth opportunities. Hold accountability for team of 34 through 6 executive reports, and oversee budgets of $40MM.

• Manage, forecast, and develop financial reports to support long-term decision-making. Direct and coordinate the annual budget process with senior leaders throughout the diocese.

• Direct the planning, monitoring, and management of the self-insured Risk Management Program, encompassing the loss prevention / safety program, procurement and lease contract review, policy procurement, and liability and workers compensation claims processing.

• Oversee financial operations for the Fundraising Programs, including annual appeal, capital campaign, endowments, and planned giving.

• Held critical role in migrating organization to a self-insured Health Insurance program that realized $1MM in operating funds. Collaborated with Director of Human Resources to set-up the structure for the new program.

• Managed the evaluation and selection of the new Finance and Cemetery systems that strengthened financial management, automated manual processes, and increased visibility of critical data.

• Spearheaded the implementation of a new program to improve profitability of schools and increase quality of education for students.

Accounting Manager (1994-2000)

Advanced to optimize the alignment of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and financial auditing operations with the growing needs of the diocese and its 108 parishes, 42 schools, 35 cemeteries, and Catholic Charities. • Assumed responsibility for the management of accounting functions supporting the Property Insurance program, the Fully Insured Health Plan, the Self-Funded Pension Plan, the Newspaper, and the Parish Assistance, Plant, Custodian, Cemeteries, and Endowment Funds.
