Product, Process and Manufacturing Engineer

Worked with customers to develop products that would be accepted in the industry. Designed a line of doors for the Marine environment. Developed to be both hinged and sliding, the door uses the very latest manufacturing technology. As a methyl-methacrylate bonded sandwich construction, this door can be completely produced in a few hours in any custom configuration. All aspects of the products development were my responsibility including: market research, CAD design, all tooling associated with the manufacture of the product and the training of shop floor personnel. The door system sets the standard for elegance and durability in the marine industry.

Created the Yachtsman window line. An innovative clamp ring window system that conceals all mounting hardware. Conceived in three-dimensional CAD, every aspect of bringing this product to market was my responsibility. This includes the design of extrusions, and all secondary operations tooling. Its introductory year yielded 40 percent of all window sales and phased out old designs with smaller profit margins.

Applied all facets of lean manufacturing including: value stream mapping on the production floor, Kanban for adhesives with a shelf life, just-in-time aluminum stock ordering for the vast array of extrusions required for manufacturing, and 5S for a clean and safe work place.
