I recently worked in the GIS

field doing survey work for

gas pipeline. My main duty

was to geospatially locate

and take pictures of pipeline

features such as coated

welds, different sized pipe,

fittings and exposed utilities

using Trimble hand held and

R2 unit. Upon finishing

locating and taking pictures,

filling out data related to

welder, coater, inspectors

and contractors profile

numbers and names were

required along with

specifications for pipe like

grade, coating mills, wall

thickness and other

assortments of material.

On another project I

performed service point

audits on gas and electric

meters. Task were to collect

a quota of 100 meters a day

by geospatially locating

each meter and taking

pictures of meters and

filling out data forms related

to condition of meters all

while using platinum blue sx

connected to IOS tablet and

using Arc GIS Field Maps.
