In-taking patients at drop off by: greeting and either building or updating profiles as needed; adding insurances and discount cards to profiles as presented; offering immunizations, and if desired, assisting them in filling out the proper questionnaire for the immunization to be administered and faxing a copy to their doctor’s office.
In-putting prescriptions patients dropped off using proper pharmacy codes and math; billing insurances and/or discount cards; calling insurances and doctor’s offices about prior authorizations as needed; clarifying prescriptions when needed with the physician’s office and sending the prescription to the pharmacist for review.
Filling the patient’s prescription by locating the proper medication from the shelf and completing proper fulfillment per physician’s script, labelling and giving it to the pharmacist for review before it sold to the patient.
Upon completion of pharmacist review, the rx was bagged and sold to the patient by asking open-ended questions (first/last name and date of birth per HIPPA guidelines); scanned the prescription from the computer; and sold the rx to the patient through the register before handing it back over to the pharmacist for counseling as needed.
