Project: Existing PCP and NPI Validation

ad1y7f@r.postjobfree.com

I worked for the Existing PCP project. Existing PCP, EDI Portal receives PCP’s and if a PCP is sent in X12 Format such as ANSI, METS, HR-XML, and DTP with a member, it will be tagged that the member is an existing patient of that PCP, so that we reduce the number of members that are assigned Default PCP’s if the Provider has a “Closed” status for only accepting existing patients.

After these changes NPI Validation starts here, when a file is sent with PCP’s Corporate Provider ID, for HMO and POS transactions, provider numbers are erroneously identified as NPI. This error causes member’s selection of PCP to fall out as invalid and assign a default provider number. The update to NPI functionality will allow for ten-digit provider numbers to ignore the NPI look up and process Corporate Provider IDs.

Deals with HIPAA team to update major changes such as PCP and NPI related test cases for HIPAA 837I/P.
