Cristobal Diaz is an outstanding Project/Office Engineer with more than twenty- four years’ experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry and more than ten-years’ experience in Project Controls (Document Controls). He provides outstanding support to owners, architects, project managers, executives, and lead field personnel on a wide range of construction projects which have included commercial, K-12 Schools, Community College Retrofits, Multi-family Housing, Transportation, and Hospitals.

His Project Controls experience includes Design/Build projects, specifically in RFI production. He is adept at tracking and coordinating change orders and creating or updating project scheduling.

He uses Procore, MS Project and Excel spreadsheets to track and schedule labor and construction projects while working closely with multiple clients, stakeholders, and vendors. He is well-versed in the following software programs: PowerPoint, Plangrid, Bluebeam, Adobe Systems, Photoshop and InVision, Illustrator, Quickbase (CRM), Timberline, Prolog, InDesign, and BOX.

Nibbi BGI Joint Project

New construction ground-up of affordable housing project. Assisted with cost controls such as planning, estimating, budgeting, financing, and managing costs alongside two Project Managers to complete the project with the approved budget. Included in his role: management of document control, including coordination of submittals, RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes, contract documents, and permits. Cristobal's understanding supported the Superintendents and Foremen in meeting code requirements on the project.

- Attended weekly meetings with both Owner Representative and Consulting teams to coordinate the processes of the construction phase.

- Prepared weekly team meeting minutes through the Procore platform.

- Coordinated and collaborated all team members input of identifying scope of work for future construction.

- Coordinated and gathered information and worked closely with lead Foreman and Subcontractors on all RFI creations.

- Assist the Project Manager with any special assignments.

- Coordinated with all subcontractors on obtaining all document control requirments for the project such as submittals, RFI’S and close out documents just to name a few. BART Measure RR

The 2016 BART System Renewal Program addressed the repair and replacement of critical safety infrastructure; modernizing the aging train control system; upgrading power infrastructure; expanding maintenance facilities; improving station access, safety, and security. Cristobal’s role was a project and document control specialist. He supported the project manager to ensure that all scheduling and coordination processes run smoothly. He coordinated the progress of multiple project to ensure that the processes of the Program Management Phase run smoothly and within the confines of set deadlines.

He was able to multi-task and work with a diverse work group of BART Engineering and consultant engineering team members. He was a key member in the collaboration work by performing the following functions:

- Attended weekly meetings with both BART and Consulting teams to coordinate the processes of the program management phase.

- Prepared weekly team meeting minutes and implemented email blast to all team members within 24 hours of the conclusion of the meetings.

- Coordinated and collaborated all team members input of identifying scope of work for future construction.

- Emailed coordination of team members input which consistent of (3) three rounds of email coordination.

- Coordinated and gathered the information of the specifications phase for each project and help input into BART's specification templates.

- Assist the Project Manager with any special assignments.

- Coordinated the scheduling of inspections on-site of the BARTs rail system during non-working train hours (window - 11pm - 4am)

Contract Work, Bay Area, CA

As an assistant PM/Project Engineer with a GC from San Jose, Cristobal assisted with project controls such as project site planning, project budgeting, assisted in financing and managing costs alongside the PM to drive the project forward in the schedule and keeping the costs within budget. He provided project management support on reviewing of contracts and sub-contracts, along with the coordination of subcontractors/suppliers. His expertise included document control, including the use of project management software such as, Procore to produce, coordinate and management of submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, contract documents, permits and change orders.

Tennyson Electric, Inc., Livermore, CA

Cristobal worked as the Project Coordinator on various projects and jobs. His Project Controls services as Safety Coordinator, where he remained up to date on OSHA regulations and assisted in implementing them at project sites. Help developed safety procedures and oversaw the enforcement of practices. Additionally, his project controls included the management of RFI, Change Order database management and coordination. His understanding of the "playbooks" for PG&E and Caltrans was key in the procurement of the correct materials installed in the field to meet code and pass inspections.

As an Assistant Project Manager, Cristobal worked on site for the East County Hall of Justice project in Dublin, CA. He assisted with cost controls such as planning, estimating, budgeting, financing, and managing costs alongside two Project Managers to complete the project with the approved budget. Included in his role is the management of document control, including coordination of submittals, RFIs, Change Orders, Meeting minutes, Contract documents, and permits. The project was inspected under OSHPOD requirements and Cristobal's understanding supported the Superintendents and Foremen in meeting code requirements on the project. Barnum & Celillo Electric, Inc. (BCE), Sacramento, CA As Assistant Project Manager, Cristobal coordinated in the project controls on multiple commercial and multi-family construction projects. His Project Controls duties covered "full cycle" projects that included management of project controls from the bidding phases to actual contract awarded projects to the project management of projects and closing or turning them over to the client/owner. The bidding phases included the management of RFI's, change orders, addendums and the coordination with outside material vendors to make sure that we were submitting the correct materials and meeting construction code. This management and coordination of project controls is key in making sure nothing falls through the cracks when the project is awarded.

The Project Management phase continued with project controls in the management and coordination of the RFIs, change orders and submittals carried over from the bidding phase along with all new document implementation, management, and coordination. Cristobal's experience with project scheduling using MS Project was key in providing and updating 4-week project look ahead schedules. UC Davis Medical Center, Davis, CA

As a Project Assistant, Cristobal coordinated all aspects of this large multi-million- dollar commercial project. He worked with general contractors, team personnel and owner representative, architects, and subcontractors. He assisted with project scheduling on a bi-weekly basis with the full-time company project scheduler and managed monthly progress payments: liens/pre-liens, payment applications, RFI’s, Change Orders and some certified payroll/prevailing wages.
