Design Engineer Cambridge Ma. Oct 2015- Sept 2016

Mechanical support designer for the SWEAP instrument on the Solar Probe Plus spacecraft. Responsible for

the design of all vibration, thermal, and laser welding alignment fixtures during the final design and construction stage. Given the task of designing one of the primary thermal shields of the final flight hardware/instrument. Used SolidWorks

extensively on support efforts in vac systems, instrument vibration tests Ground support efforts. Worked directly

with scientists and test engineers to perform multiple thermal and vibration tests prior to shipping the instrument. Completed the project by designing multiple handling, shipping and test GSE fixtures to support Smithsonian and

NASA personnel in testing and final mounting the instrument to the spacecraft launched on Aug 11th. 2018.

MIT Spin off / Startup. Flow battery energy storage technology. Responsible for designing and optimizing electrolyte storage, cooling and fluid transport schemes through sub scale test cells. Designed the new sub scale fluid

system with optimized flow paths and CNC'd the entire system. Presented the initial system for design review and was immediately authorized to produce multiple systems for testing of electrolyte capacity and durability. Additionally

designed fixtures and support equipment for electrolyte preparation and testing (UV-vis, pH, density etc.)

Designed static load fixtures for locomotive crashworthiness program including a 1 million lb load structure. Programmed a series of custom LabView™ Data Acquisition programs for load tests. Designed various

prototype emergency egress designs. created test schemes for all testing efforts and designed and hand built a

Ultra-high speed data acquisition system for U.S.D.A. meat tenderizing shock wave program. Trained technicians in installation of all strain gauge and LVDT sensors for various tests.

Conducted support testing efforts for U.S. Marines RPG defense program. Performed on-site rail stress and

emergency egress lighting tests. Presented test data to various team members as well as participated in formal client presentations. Support work for lightweight composite aerospace structures testing.

Director of Testing (Full Time)

Responsible for the design, operation and testing of all prototype speed reducers created in house.

Lead engineer responsible for purchasing and set up of a custom-built 50 Hp. Dynamometer. Designed a data acquisition system for the dynamometer system. Setup and performed acceptance qualification of the company's dynamometer / tribology lab. Supervised the daily work load of both the assembly and test labs, devised and supervised co-op student training. Oversaw and directed all tear down and tribilogical evaluations, as well as supporting test hardware qualification efforts of all potential Synkinetics product prototypes.
