Rothman Orthopedic Institute, Spine Surgery & Trauma PA 8/21-9/23 Capital Health Hopewell & Capital Health Regional Trauma Center
• Served as first assistant to spine surgeon in the operating room during surgical procedures of the spine. Duties included patient prep, intra-op assistance and closing incision.
• Assisted surgeon in pre- and post-op patient management, including responding to patients and their families, peer-to-peer meetings, MRI and other advanced imaging approvals, hospital rounds, managing subsequent treatments, ordering necessary tests, and prescribing medications.
• Reviewed advanced Spine imaging and referred patients for appropriate epidural injections or surgical evaluation.
• Managed my own patient load, including seeing new patients, follow-ups, and taking consults during both spine as well as orthopedic hospital calls.
• Assisted physician in treating patients during clinic hours, including administering injections, discussing patient history, and developing a roadmap for patient treatment.
• Served as Orthopedic Trauma PA at Trauma Center, Capital Health Regional, including serving as first assist in the OR.
