Responsible for overseeing business consulting services, public relations, marketing, administrative, professional development, training, budgeting for six counties. Additionally, developed the “What’s Your Big Idea Challenge” that awarded cash prizes to the top business concepts and ideas. Along with my duties at the center I engaged business and liberal arts students and local businesses to work on projects that benefitted the students and the businesses. Martin gave the initiative 20 acres to build homes for individuals who met the Federal Poverty guidelines. Part of my function was to permit and sub-divide the property. Additionally, developed guidelines for the Sister Olive Single Room Occupancy designed and funded in honor of Sister Olive Bordelon, President and CEO of CHRISTUS Health.

1998 to 2004 Director of Business Development, Regional HIPAA Compliance Coordinator, Corporate Relations Specialist, and Special Project Director

CHRISTUS Coushatta Health Care Center, Cousahtta, LA and St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, LA

Responsible for preparation, development, management, and maintenance of specific projects assigned relative to region-wide of operations. Organize, direct, educate and monitor all operating aspects of the various projects regarding staffing levels, budget control, service promotion, long range planning, program development, policy and procedure implementation and intra-departmental relations. Managed an $8.5 million dollar construction project, managed a $6.4 million dollar A/R outsourcing and a $1.6 million-dollar third party pre-collect program with Commercial Insurance Medicare and Medicaid programs. Serve on Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Action Committee for CHRISTUS Health and as the HIPAA Regional Compliance Coordinator for the Central Louisiana. Trinity Gas Corporation, Brownwood, TX

Responsible for administrative operations which included cash flow management, staff supervision and development, asset management for operations in West Texas, Wyoming and Colorado with additional oil and gas exploration operations in Columbia South America. Trinity Gas Corp is a publicly traded (OTC) and was additionally responsible for supervising the completion of Form 10 SEC filing as well as Form 10-Q filings and all reporting requirements associated with the oil and gas industry. Was hired as a Consultant/General Manager to stabilize business operations by the board of directors. After taking the position the SEC suspended trading on the company and began an investigation that led to the company filing for reorganization protection. I was later hired by the U.S. Trustee to assist with stabilization of the company and to help the SEC investigation. The company is currently publicly traded and has come out of reorganization.

1994 to 1997 General Manager, Owner

Responsible for the development and distribution of a technical business package for the medical industry that would assist with the electronic submissions of healthcare claims. The business was dissolved because the HIPAA regulations sat idle for two years without the rules being published and little interest was found in the medical community.

Responsible for consulting with new and existing small businesses with regard to cash flow analysis, financial analysis, business plan development, loan packaging and market research. Familiar with the concept of TQM and ISO-9000 and other international standardization requirements. Assisted a private entity to develop and bring a patented product to the market. Conducted numerous market research projects for a variety of industries including service, manufacturing, construction and technology.
