Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
The Architect of the Capitol's (AOC) Office of Inspector General (OIG), promotes efficiency and effectiveness to deter and prevent fraud, waste and abuse in AOC operations and programs through value-added, transparent and independent audits, evaluations and investigations. We strive to positively impact the AOC and the tax payer while keeping Congress informed meeting monthly with Congressional Oversight staffs on the Committee for House Administration, Senate Rules as well as House and Senate Appropriations. Additionally, the Inspector General meets quarterly with the House Speaker’s office. A voting member on the Counsel of Inspectors General on economies and efficiencies. (CIGIE). Provides C-Suite leadership with recommendations, Management Advisories and Notice of Concern to address agency wide issues detrimental to productivity, personnel and productivity.
- Produced and oversaw the AOC 2017-2023 Financial Statements Audits
- Produced and oversaw three agency wide Risk Assessment
- CIGIE Peer reviews of Investigations, Audits and Inspections and Evaluations
-Conducted dozens of audits and evaluations and Follow-up evaluations as well as 100s of investigations and Inspections, resulting in 100s of recommendations for improving the agency and increasing economies and efficiencies.
-Other work includes quarterly Status reports for the House Sub Committee for Appropriations as well as Semi-Annual Reports for Congress (SARC).
-Increased investigations by 100% and widened outreach to AOC employees and contractors for reporting fraud, waste and abuse.
-Testified to the Committee for House Administration on multiple occasions, on Vision, Independence and ways to improve the AOC OIG as well as the Construction, Budget and Schedule status of the Cannon House Office Building Renewal Project ( $825M)
-Ensures Audits, Evaluations, and Investigations are conducted within industry standards in accordance with CIGIE standards for investigations and evaluations as well as the Generally Accepted Government Accounting Standards.
-Oversees greater than $1B of construction contracts and over 2200 AOC employees in addition to 1000’s of contractors from food services and janitorial personnel to construction engineers.
-Leads a group of 20 professionals, growing to 24 by 2024 based on increased workload and requests from Congressional oversight.
-Voting member of CIGIE
-Member of the CIGIE Inspections and Evaluations Committee.
-Member of the CIGIE Legislative Committee.
-Graduate of the Certified Inspector General Course

Coordinates projects across components within the DoDIG. Identifies potentially conflicting priorities/requirements from other components within DoDIG and works with partners to resolve conflicts.
