Client True Value Company LLC, USA

Role Technical Lead

Duration: Oct 2020 to Oct 2022 Location: HCL Technologies, Chennai, India Project Description:

Network Optimization:

The True Value is trying to build an optimized network (inventory and operations model) in which the country is divided into four regions, each with one hub (remaining locations are spokes). Hubs will carry approximately the same number of SKUs as today, albeit more inventory on those SKUs to support spoke location demand. Spokes would carry as little as 1/3 their current SKU base representing 60%+ of their current demand (this can be modified as appropriate based on business input/need). Members would continue to place RDC orders the same way that they do today but the fulfilment of SKUs not stocked at spokes would be transferred from hubs to those locations based on actual demand in an overnight picking/shipping process. The key concepts and overview of the proposed Network Optimization solution are as follows:

Create 4 Regions; Midwest, Northeast, South and West.

Optimize SKUs stocked in Central Ship, Hubs and Spokes.

Modular & Self- Funding

Current Work Location: Chicago VISA TYPE: H1B Mona Merlin Balija Marcus Phone: +1-585-***-**** Valid Till: 2026 Oct Email: ad1w9i@r.postjobfree.com

Stocking Model:

a. Stock all SKUs not stocked at Central Ship

b. Hubs service their assigned members and operate as both hub and spoke c. Members serviced by spokes have changes to fulfilment timeframe or delivery experience d. “Merge on dock” for single member delivery

Demand Tec Integration

True value is trying to focus on the price strategy where a business offers varying price points at different locations or point of sale. This is to offer the cost of certain goods and service based on the market level demand. The main objective is to optimize overall profit by offering the best price at each point of sale. There is a desire to modify the broken carton charge for the TV system based on the SKU level which is currently defaulted to company level. Logistics UPS transformation

True value is trying to focus on optimizing logistics functions for efficient transportation, which will provide competitive advantage in today’s market. True Value plans to optimize its supply chain functions by focusing on enhancing its warehouse management systems and processes, implementing industry best practices and add-on solutions to improve and automate warehouse operations, and create value for members by achieving superior order fill rate. True Value additionally plans to outsource non-core logistic operations to 3PL transportation vendor, which will provide economies of scale and reduce the risk of transportation error thereby protecting organization from penalties and legal risks.
