Responsibilities

•Provide subject matter expertise to help less experienced Child Protective Investigators build increased capacity in investigative skills and in determining present danger.

•Provide case consultation and advise and/or co-investigate complex cases with other Child Protective Investigators to

assure appropriateness, clarity, quality, and thoroughness.

•Act as Supervisor when needed.

•Contact I the Hot-line for issues with intakes.

•Cover units while Supervisors are not available.

•Supervise, plan and direct workloads, workflows, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization of

subordinate staff n the delivery of protecting children, working with families and conducting investigations of alleged abused, abandoned, neglected or exploited children.

•Develops performance standards and job duty expectations with investigators, reviews standards and plans for continuous inn movement.

•Communicates investigators’ compliance with these expectations on a regular basis and provides coaching

by acknowledging outstanding performance and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.

•Evaluates employee s against established standards and takes any necessary steps for corrective action.
