I have had the privilege of providing humanitarian services for over 30 years as a volunteer with different community food programs including Tabitha’s Way in the Lindon/American Fork, Utah area and Wayne County’s Food Sharing program, It’s been an honor to work with stake presidents of the LDS church in American Fork 1st Ward in Utah, with whom was also assigned as Transient Bishops to support those in the community who were homeless and hungry. My husband and I have organized and created community gardens, and have given shelter, food, and articles of clothing and bedding to those who have had none. An example of some of the humanitarian work I have participated in or organized has directly influenced the morale of my community and encouraged community bonding while managing a campground in American Fork, Utah the residents were either alone and had no family to turn to or had family that just could not afford simple hot cocoa on the holidays. Each year we would set up a community area decorated for the season or holiday and provide the comfort of warm cocoa and treats in the presence of a contained burn barrel. I am an advocate for Autism and for those who cannot speak for themselves.
