Chief ESG and People Officer 2022

-Shape and lead the development of a short and long term ESG strategy (with a strong focus on the “S” in ESG) for UDR to exceed stakeholder expectations and meet or exceed our ESG medium and long term goals.

-Be a steward for ESG to investors and other key stakeholders internally and externally.

-Lead and coach the Head of HR on developing a multi-faceted strategy and associated core initiatives, ensuring Talent and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are at the forefront of key decisions and to drive increased associate engagement and retention.

-Responsible for shaping an inspiring new vision and mission for AJLI’s next chapter (in our Centennial Year), including leading the development of a new strategic plan for the Board, Team and the 295 Junior Leagues (125,000 members) globally to ensure increased new membership and retention.

-Designed and lead the development of a new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy, Governance Model and Curriculum designed to attract more diverse talent and create a more inclusive environment for members.

-Lead the effort to design a new leadership development curriculum and approach to community engagement to ensure relevance in the 21st century, ensuring the unique characteristics of each of the Junior Leagues is accounted for and the strong brand of the Junior Leagues is maintained.

-Served as a visible spokesperson, collaborator, and advocate for the AJLI and the Junior League movement within the membership and at external events to build out the Junior League brand and attract donors in a planful, strategic and sustainable manner.

THOMSON REUTERS New York

Global Head of Corporate Responsibility, Sustainability & Inclusion 2011 – 2018

-Responsible for leading the design, development and execution of the first global, enterprise-wide Diversity & Inclusion and Corporate Responsibility strategy for Thomson Reuters.

-Established company-wide Social Impact targets, data collection and reporting processes for topics such as gender disparity by increasing women in leadership to 40% by 2020. Started in 2017, female leadership rose 23% to 33.8% by 2018.

-Created and implemented core thought leadership initiatives for the company regarding Social Impact metrics and resources on a global scale via the D&I Index and ESG Institute.

-Built an approach for D&I that covered all aspects of the employee lifecycle - from recruitment practices, development programs, advancement, engagement and attrition on a global level.

-Established and led a governance model as well as a tracking system on a global scale to ensure strong leadership engagement on Social Impact topics. This included: Women’s Advisory Task Force, the Black Talent Task Force, Regional Inclusion Councils and the Corporate Responsibility & Inclusion Task Force, Corporate Responsibility and Inclusion Committee, which include the CEO and Executive Board members to advise on the Social Impact agenda.

-Brand ambassador for Thomson Reuters globally, which includes driving thought leadership on Social Impact issues, and speaking and moderating panels on the topic internally and externally (75+ annually) as well as press (including Forbes, The Muse, The Hill, Thrive Global).

Director, Head of Talent Development APAC, Employee Engagement 2006 – 2011

-Developed and led the strategy, people management and operations of the Business School, including talent management, employee engagement, learning and development for all employees in APAC (responsible for 35 employees in 8 locations, running 2,200 programs annually).

-Designed the “One Bank” learning and development approach and governance for APAC, which was applied to all regions. This includes a comprehensive curriculum focused on skills and knowledge required at all levels to further the integrated bank strategy.

-Initiated, designed and implemented a Credit Suisse exclusive degree-bearing Diploma in Global Finance with the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

-Oversaw the global training and development strategy for the Global Centre of Competence for On-Boarding, including the design of on-boarding in all locations, and cross-divisional graduate training.

-Developed the Centre of Excellence strategy, including change management, pre-deployment, on-boarding and career development for employees in Singapore, India, Poland, and the US.
