Complex EHS Manager – February 2023 – November 2023

Strategic direction for three International Paper Box Plants within region, in all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) matters.

Ensure compliance with all legislation and regulatory bodies at federal, state, and local levels, including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, DOT. Work closely with our Corporate EHS team to ensure any and all company and/or regulatory changes are implemented in a timely manner.

Maintain all required federal, state, and local permits which are required at each of the three facilities spread across two states which includes VA and NC.

Maintain records necessary for preparation and distribute accurate and timely reports. Collect, analyze, and disseminate Health, Safety, and Environmental data to corporate executives, fellow leaders, and the site workforce.

Manage expenditure reports for travel as well as ratify and present budgets for multiple facilities and their EHS capital projects.

Develop and manage a comprehensive and effective safety and training program to include but not limited to: accident/incident prevention, reporting, accident analysis while utilizing and implementing for leadership a Safety Management System (SMS). Currently, proficient in using Velocity Safety Management System.

Primary contact/liaison for all EHS regulatory agencies at the federal, state, and local authorities with all jurisdictions across multiple locations in multiple states.

Develop and manage a comprehensive and effective safety and training program to include but not limited to: accident/incident prevention, reporting, investigation and analysis while utilizing and implementing for leadership a Safety Management System (SMS).

Conduct and oversee all site level EHS training and recordkeeping as required by state, local, federal regulations, as well as those requirements required from our corporate and site level requirements. Collaborate with other departments to implement a Learning Management System (LMS) to assist with EHS training.

Primary contact/liaison for all EHS regulatory agencies at the federal, state, and local authorities with jurisdiction. Acting as the emergency coordinator for the site across three shifts.
