With over 30 years in the commercial construction field, I find it amazing how many new things I get to learn daily. Everyday there’s a new technic or a product is evolving our world. But what I find most fascinating is the people, both needs and character and how we craft that interaction. As an extreme extraverted I can’t help but be communicating with everyone new and old and be continually refining and practicing my listening skills. This is one of the key reasons I am such a great problem solver, that and I just don’t believe we are ever the first to do something.

Starting as a carpenter and growing all my skills as I worked my way up and through all aspects of projects has been a huge advantage to overseeing multiple projects congruently and understanding their needs and the right people for the job. I have been managing projects ranging from $1000 to well into the millions and understand what it takes to motivate a team to completions and believe great teams make successful projects.

Project Highlights

52nd St 11 unit redevelopment project Budget: $1,250,000 Rehab the existing 4 unit with additional illegal units into a legal 8 unit. Complete the rehab of the additional duplex and single unit on the tax lot and make ready to rent. This project started out as a 1890’s farmhouse with 2 additional buildings. One of the previous owners had remodeled this property into multiple additional units that were all non-conforming and unpermitted. Through extensive planning and working with the city to obtain permits, plans for structural upgrades, and now a new legal 11-unit for Peak Asset management. Salem Ambulatory Surgery Center Budget: <$3,500,000 Project Manager for this 10,000 sq. ft. ground up surgery center. This project was the first new building under the new Oregon ASC guidelines to go through state review. With a sole proprietor (doctor) funding the project, value engineering was a top goal while meeting all NFPA and state codes with its many challenges from bad soil to planning for an additional extended stay facility (future building). Marriott Waterfront Hotel Project Budget: <$6,000,000 The 1st and 2nd floor lobby renovation including a complete revamp of their check-in pods, meeting rooms, restaurant, and lobby bar. This 4-phased project was completed on time with little interruption to guests or services provided by the hotel. We developed the schedule and refined the phasing plan by studying how the property used the space and its existing obligations. Having several food prep areas required State Heath inspections along with the Fire Life Safety and steel special inspections. This project was completed with no issues or incidents.
