Maintain, administer, & enforce safety policies and procedures for all 11 facilities

Regular plant safety inspections with reports & facilitate safety meetings for all 11 facilities

Ensure company compliance with federal and state safety and environmental regulations and permits

Reporting on SMARTS, CERS, CARB, OSHA 300 Log, and AQMD emissions reporting.

Provide technical safety and health support to production and office personnel

Maintain corporate safety & health programs, assess & recommend areas of improvement

Coordinate with Human Resources on workers compensation and return to work issues

Serve as the primary contact with all federal and state environmental agencies

Coordinate and facilitate regulatory inspections

Conduct hazard assessments and develop recommendations

Liaise with legal counsel where appropriate

Accomplishments:

Implemented an employee hydration program that was diabetes conscience.

Implemented a GPS asset tracking program for all forklifts and high value vehicles that gave ownership the ability to optimize forklift use, monitor forklifts for off hour use alerting them to theft, track engine hours for accurate CARB reporting, and cancel their insurance saving the company around $75000.00 a year.

Implemented company vehicle dashcams that tracked employee driving habits that enabled management to in real time coach and correct driver’s risky behavior resulting in reduced accidents, increased productivity by showing better driving routes and eliminating non-work-related stops and recording accidents/incidents that either cleared the company and driver of fault or proved driver fault and aided in employee termination. The dash cams also helped to reduce insurance costs.

Implemented a pressure sensitive safety mat that would stop the conveyor when stepped on by an employee who did not follow proper procedures on the line to eliminate a string of partial fingertip amputation injuries.

Implemented having DIR or LADBS do the pressure vessel inspections and permits instead of an insurance company the company was using to do the inspections and permits which eliminated a $15,000 a year policy the insurance company required to do the inspections and permitting.
