Subject: EXTENSION OF THE PROOF OF REGISTRATION (POR) CARD FOR

AFGHAN REFUGEES LIVING IN PAKISTAN.

am directed to refer to the Ministry of SAFRON's letter No. F.4(4)-

RR/2021 dated June 16, 2021 on the subject above and to convey that revalidation of

existing Proof of Registration (PoR) cards being issued to Afghan refugees living in

Pakistan is in progress and many have already been issued the new re-validated cards

2 It may be recalled that the Federal Cabinet during its meeting held on

March 16, 2021 has granted permission for issuance of new well secured POR cards in

the shape of chip-based “Smart Cards” with a validity period of two years i-€ * July

2021 to 30" June 2023. Any amendment in the validity of the cards, if required would

be intimated through a gazette notification, if required

3 In view of above, Ministry of SAFRON may write to State Bank of

Pakistan accordingly so that the POR card holders are facilitated in maintaining their

bank accounts and transactions through Western Union subject to fulfillment of all
