In addition to settlements I was also tasked with clearing a back log of breaks relating to aged external settlement items, which involved me utilizing my investigatory and reconciliation skills to remedy. I left this position in early December due to poor health of an immediate family relative.

May 2006 – March 2007: Pershings Securities

Trade support, stock and cash reconciliations

Worked internationally in a role that encompassed a number of elements of the trade process. I spent half my time working within international settlements, solving cash a stock breaks arising from the settlement process. The other half working within trade support problem solving, inputting trades, making amendments, adhoc queries from dealers and internal and external clients. This kind of work involves a great deal of thinking on your feet which I enjoyed and found very challenging. I gained a good knowledge of the end to end process from trade input to settlement which has been highly beneficial to my understanding and allowed me to progress quickly and become a valued member of staff.

Feb 2004 – April 2006: Northern Cyprus

Project Manager

Project Manager on a property development in Northern Cyprus. My role encompassed a number of responsibilities, from overseeing the initial land purchase, architect and contractor appointment, planning permission submission through to ensuring the project’s completion within the targeted cost and timescale. In addition to further developing my analytical, logistical planning and team leadership abilities, working within a foreign culture also enhanced my interpersonal skills greatly.
