Stort Services Ltd – Consultant to CEO and Owner Oct 11 to Current

Still a Privately owned company, setup with the remainder of Stort Services Group Ltd not included in the disposal. Providing consultancy and project management to the construction industry and property management.

Reviews project budgets,

Provide pre-billing information for project managers to review.

Provide cost estimates and prepare invoices.

Prepare actual costs, working capital reports.

Report to the CEO on the overall performance of the company, weekly cash and monthly financial Statements.

Stort Services Group Ltd - Consultant to CEO and Owner Nov-09 to Oct 11

A privately owned single company providing Scaffolding & Shoring Systems rental, installation, dismantling, design and consultancy.

Establish a new chart of accounts and a complete new set of accounts for a single company operation. Amend registration with Customs and Excise, Inland revenue and Companies House.

Install a new computer system to comply with the new company format and a inhouse financial accountant to manage the day to day function of the accounts department.

I was also responsible for all external financial communication including final account reconciliations and settlements.

Finally to prepare the company for disposal as a going concern ensuring it would pass any due diligence.

Major Projects

Blue Saffron Ltd - Interim Financial Controller Mar-08 to Oct-09

One of London and the UK's leading independent suppliers of communications and IT. Managed IT services and outsourced IT management.

Reduced the trade debtor days by 50% and renegotiated the settlement terms with major suppliers, hence considerably reducing the overall capital employed and the companies exposure to bad and doubtful debts.

Increase the accuracy of the variable overheads and fixed overheads being reported also allowing the efficiency of cost analysis reporting This allowed the company to readily identify loss making contracts and direct costs not being billed, increasing the companies control of the gross margin.

Implemented and installed NetSuite system. On completion the accounting function remained in house and the finance was handed to new external accountants under contract.

Stort Scaffolding Services – Regional Controller Mar-05 to Mar 08

A privately owned group of companies providing Scaffolding & Shoring Systems rental, installation, dismantling, design and consultancy. Manufacturers and suppliers of industrial insulation and fire protection products & systems.

Prepared the year end accounts for both companies and liase with the auditors to complete the final accounts. On completing the year end accounts prepared Vat Audit.

As consultant to the chief executive, disposed of all tangible and non tangible assets for all the subsidiary companies and distributed to a most favourable tax computation. In charge of month end/day to day accounting operations (AP, AR, Payroll)

Whitbread Restaurants Plc– Interim Divisional Controller Aug-03 to Jan 05

Whitbread Property development a division and main contractor to Whitbread Restaurants, acquiring real estate, constructing property including out fitting of furniture, fixtures and fittings.

Reporting to the group CFO for the control of work in progress greater than 1 billion GBP(1.6 billion U$).

Prepare monthly managements reports for work in progress, fixed assets and budget variance analysis justification, also transfers from work in progress to fixed assets not being depreciated.

Present year end asset register to the financial accounts and the auditors.

GKN Construction Plc– Regional Controller Apr-91 to Jul 03 A major public company operating as main contractor and sub contraction to other major construction companies such as Waits construction, Laings, Mowlems and Balfour Beatty. With major projects throughout the London area including Canary Wharf.

Prepared all project managements reports, monthly and year end accounts to strict deadlines.

With a team of managing surveyors I agreed the interim payments and final project accounts including all extras not to be

included in main contract.

Sodastream UK Ltd- Interim Financial Controller Dec-88 to Mar-91

Manufactures and Distributers of sparkling water flavored drinks and their own branded Drinks Makers.

Responsible for all of the accounting function and financial reporting in the UK

Brought the management account into line with the financial accounts and agree them to the system. Two major issues were the sales ledger and the inventory had not been agreed with the auditor for the previous year end accounts.
