Provided consulting services to Lawson Products as a Project Manager as they transitioned from 3 Chicago

area operations into a new, built to spec facility in McCook, IL. The goal of the project is the seamless

transition of a packaging operation, a chemical distribution center, and a general products distribution

center into the new 300,000+ sq. Ft location. Through the management and coordination of the activities

of various department heads and operations managers, primary responsibilities include:

• Operational Mapping: Overall mapping of operations including all packaging machinery, bulk racking,

static shelving, flow rack and conveyor, along with all IT, MHE, and safety requirements.

• Operational Planning: Creation of an operational work-flow and profiling plan that provides for most

efficient utilization of space and equipment.

• Operational Staffing: Creation of staffing plan for both Administrative and Operational components

of location. Design of Operational Shifts surrounding receiving, packaging, put-away, replenishment,

picking, and shipping that optimizes MHE utilization while minimizing congestion. Coordination of training

and orientations.

• Transition Management: Plan and implement transition strategy that allows for the shifting of operations

from the old locations to new facility with zero impact to customer service. Includes ensuring inventory

builds, understanding of needs for redundant labor and equipment, and relocation of equipment and

inventory.

• New location opened on-time and under budget without impacting service.
