Educational Philosophy:
s an educator, mother, United States citizen, and servant of God, I believe that education is the doorway to opportunities. My educational philosophy stems from the foundation of self identification: All children are equal and yet different, with varying degrees of gifts, some learn quickly and others learn slowly; all are capable of learning…Their differences makes them unique and provides them with multifaceted, informational highway for sharing: cultural and moral influences, societal and spiritual views, as well as their personal credence; students are inherently good and want to do well, this I believe. Although they have the capacity to perform well and be their best, situational circumstances and events alters their capacity for greatness… err goes bad influences and pessimistic behaviors, which can be overcome by sound education, positive affect, and a safe environment.
I, too, believe that my purpose is to educate, inform, facilitate, and pontificate—if need be— I am not above reproach and am willing to learn from cohorts, administrative staff, and students. And because of this, learning is a two lane highway with interaction between the teacher and the learner, whereas information is being, shared, exchanged, and processed; it is my duty to ensure such a process is functional, and proper lesson planning is the key to presenting comprehensible information, along with students’ comments about the particulars of certain lessons.
Moreover, I am to provide my students with a safe environment in which to learn— classroom management is the dividing line on the thoroughfare, and it allows the students to adhere to their proper lane i.e., establishment of rules. I am a pragmatist who recognizes that unambiguous boundaries are a necessity for students’ achievements and teachers’ curricular. Classroom management is attained through proper planning and flexibility, for unperceived situations. I believe children and young adults will flourish in such an environment; additionally, a positive atmosphere and positive reinforcement/encouragement adds to students’ success. I know there is not an equation for this… however, with student involvement and teacher feedback, students will have a better chance of being productive in class—
