As a mortgage operations specialist, I work within a multitude of varietal functions relating to residential and construction mortgages. My sole role is to facilitate mortgage closings where I review property taxes, homeowners’ insurance, employment verification, attorney closing fees and loan application information to prepare the closing documents for a member. As a cross trained individual within the operations role, I also review appraisals for accuracy of property information, conduct audits needed to prepare the file to move within the loan pipeline and deliver communication within the department/attorneys regarding the status of a loan. Assisting with system release testing, procedural updates and training for new employees is also key function I perform.

As a mortgage originator, I maintained an extensive knowledge of all mortgage products and programs. I educated members on products that best suited their needs as well as answered questions on mortgage eligibility and ways to work toward being approved for a loan. I generated loans within our loan production system, reviewed mortgage documents for accuracy (income docs, tax returns, property taxes, insurance) and assisted the loan from beginning of the process to closing.
