Work as part of the statewide Childcare Aware Professional Development team to provide leadership on the development, design, and implementation of policies, manage programs and procedures that support input in ongoing policy and standard procedures for the MN Department of Human Services Early Childhood Professional Development system.

Collaborate with the MN Center for Professional Development/ Achieve to provide approved training by approved trainers, across the system. Provide leadership and technical assistance to PD Support Coordinator, Administrative Assistant staff and fellow Professional Development Coordinators.

Have a strong understanding of all childcare and education related programs including their relationship to MN State and County resources; MN Department of Public Health, MN Department of Education, and the MN Department of Human Services.

Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations and policies, including but not limited to Rule 2, Rule 3 and Head Start federal and state regulations.

Provide monthly, biannual, and annual data and analysis to the MN Department of Human Services; attend state network, district and departmental meetings as scheduled. Compile and discern annual training survey and provide data and report to Childcare Aware of MN and Professional Development Director. Provide a summary of information to the agency board of directors.

Active advocate in state legislative issues regarding early childhood and state regulation and compliance.

Provide staff support and lead, mentor and/ or coach staff, manage staff and projects related to Professional Development and Training.

Participate in the Quality Rating Improvement System expansion called Parent Aware as it continues across the State of Minnesota; guiding participants via professional development advising and planning to meet the program requirements.

Provide professional development advising and learning guidance to Early Childhood professionals throughout the 20 counties in Southern MN.

Advise, consult, and promote collaboration between partner agencies and the public regarding professional development for Early Childhood Professionals and facilitate effective program integration.

Advise Early Childhood Professionals in their pursuit of education by developing and implementing a plan for establishing and strengthening partnerships and collaboration with Higher Education Institutions.

Build and maintain a strong relationship with Early Childhood Education programs in the 2 and 4- year College and University system within the Southern District. Participate on Advisory Boards at these Institutes.

Develop, coordinate and/or implement training opportunities to meet the needs of Early Childhood professionals in the twenty-county area of the Southern District (approximately 3000 childcare professionals) as outlined by Childcare Aware of MN.

Recruit, interview and contract with qualified Early Childhood Professional Instructors and Trainers. Orientate, support, and guide trainers through Childcare Aware of MN and the approval requirements in affiliation with the MN Center for Professional Development.

General customer service skills, such as listening, using reflective practice, providing accurate and appropriate information and resources, meeting the needs of the early childhood practitioners we serve.

Create and publish a bi-annual catalog, marketing training opportunities for early childhood professionals including, but not limited to: Head Start programs, School Readiness sites, ECFE/ ECSE, Childcare Centers, Family Childcare Programs, Family, Friend and Neighbor Caregivers, Foster Parents, Parents and Grand Parents; including English Language Learners including Tribal partners.

I am proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Access, Excel, and Publisher; I have also used Constant Contact, and several online seminar/ online meeting platforms, managed content on agency website.

Market program services by providing a bi-annual Newsletter for Early Childhood professionals and Community Partners containing pertinent information on the resources available through Childcare Aware of MN Southern District, Childcare Aware of MN, and the department of Human Services.

Continue to maintain knowledge of Early Childhood Education policies; attend annual National Conferences/ Symposiums and NAEYC Professional Development Institute; state and local conferences and events.
