Work Experience
The Cave at Ventura Wine Company - Ventura, CA August 2023 to Present
Hidden in the business district of Ventura, this establishment is known for its selection of fine wines, and finer dinners. From the familiar mignon to the exotic barramundi, The Cave provides an American flair to its French/Italian cuisine. Currently my tasks include:
Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks
Plating prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance
Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
The Shores Restaurant - Ventura, CA September 2022 to July 2023
At this upscale sports bar in the heart of Oxnard Shores, I focused heavily on a Creole/Cajun/Southern- style menu. This job is where I utilized all of my experience over the past decade or so - for several months, an average shift would see me waiting tables, help clean glasses behind the bar, help my cooks behind the line, then help the dishies out at the end. I have worked multiple shifts behind the line by myself, and have been able to sell $1900 in food sales on even a Monday night.

Line Cook/Server
Gotetsu Kushiyaki and Sake House - Ventura, CA August 2017 to September 2022
This is a small Japanese grill across from Ventura High School, specializing in skewers and tavern-style Japanese cuisine. For much of my career here, the team consisted of three people: myself, the owner, and another coworker - with only a seating capacity of 40 people, nights could still easily rack into $1500 range, with a mix of food and drink sales.
Roles fulfilled: Utility, Server, Cook
Lost Arrow Cafe at Patagonia - Ventura, CA March 2017 to July 2020
During my tenure here, I worked in the cafeteria and served in-house the 400+ occupants of Patagonia. I had taken on many roles, from utility to line cook, having responsibility for tasks such as inventory, food preparation, and food stations during service hours. Here, I also performed duties pertaining to cashier, maintenance, and utility. I was taught in preparing both meat and vegan options, and with different cuisines.
Roles fulfilled: Utility, Prep Cook, Cashier
